Installation by Your Contractor

We refer you to RBQ-licensed independent contractors who know our materials, or you use someone you already trust. You sign directly with them — not with us. Clean accountability on both sides.

Separate RBQ contract

Not cheap imports.
Optimized sourcing.

The same engineering approach luxury brands use to manufacture internationally — applied to your renovation. The difference isn't material quality. It's where the labour happens.

Why we charge $2,000 before quoting anything.

Because real design work isn't free. Each project takes 15 to 25 hours of design, measurement, sourcing, and coordination time before a real quote can be produced.

Companies that give free estimates are either selling stock product or burying the cost somewhere in inflated pricing later. We don't do either.

$2,000 CAD + taxes
Design & Measurement Fee
Start with a consultation

Onsite design consultation

A full 60–90 minute visit. We listen first, then frame the project.

Laser measurement session

Professional-grade measurement to the millimetre, with floor variance and wall plumb accounted for.

Design direction & concept

Finish selection, layout, proportions, hardware — coordinated with our international design partners.

Professional 3D renderings

Photorealistic views of your finished space from multiple angles, before a single piece is manufactured.

Full itemized quote package

Manufacturing specs, technical drawings, sourced materials quote — a real deliverable you own.

If you proceed to materials, the $2,000 is fully credited toward your project. If you don't, we retain it as payment for the design work delivered. Either way, you get a professional design package worth every dollar.

Questions we hear at every consultation.

Is the quality really as good as local custom?
Honest answer: it depends entirely on the supplier and the specs you give them. There are factories that produce world-class work and factories that don't. The difference between us and someone ordering directly off Alibaba is that we've done the vetting, we set the technical specs, we run independent third-party QC before anything ships, and we get photo and video proof. The materials — plywood, hardware brands like Blum, finishes — are often the same components used by local custom shops. The difference is where the labour happens.
Why pay $2,000 when other companies give free estimates?
Companies giving free estimates are either selling stock product — where no design work is needed — or they're burying the design cost in inflated pricing later. What we do in the design and measurement phase isn't just a quote. It's actual production work: laser drawings, 3D renderings, manufacturing specs, sourced pricing. That's a deliverable you own. And if you proceed, the $2,000 is credited toward your materials, so it's not an additional cost — it's a deposit.
What happens if something arrives damaged?
We plan for it. Every shipment uses damage-resistant packaging. Every shipment is fully insured with all-risk marine insurance. When materials arrive, you and your contractor inspect everything within 5 business days and document anything with photos. We then work with the manufacturer and freight provider to resolve it — replacement, credit, or repair. We also build a damage reserve into every quote so the financial buffer is already there.
Who installs it? Can you do that?
We don't install — and that's deliberate. In Quebec, residential installation must be done by an RBQ-licensed contractor. We operate strictly as the design and supply company. We can refer you to installers we trust who have experience with our materials, or you can use a contractor you already know. You sign directly with them. The advantage: clear lines of accountability. We're responsible for design and materials. The contractor is responsible for labour.
How long does the whole project take?
Realistic timeline: design phase takes 2–3 weeks. Production in China takes 6–10 weeks. Ocean freight and customs clearance adds 5–8 weeks. Installation is then coordinated with your contractor. Total from consultation to finished install: approximately 4 to 5 months. That's longer than IKEA and faster than most Quebec custom shops for comparable quality and scope.
Why not just buy local?
In Quebec, custom cabinetry is expensive because labour is expensive — $40 to $80 per hour for skilled millwork. The materials themselves aren't the expensive part. When you manufacture to the same specs internationally, you cut the labour cost without compromising the build. It's the same structural logic luxury brands have used for decades. We're applying it to individual homeowners instead of to large retail brands.
What's the minimum project size?
Our minimum is $15,000 in materials. Below that, the logistics economics don't work in your favour and we genuinely can't serve you profitably. If your project is smaller, we'd rather be honest and point you toward a better option — IKEA, a stock cabinet provider, or a local shop — than take your money for a project we can't serve well.
